15 appointed as Ambassadors/High Commissioners: Kojo Bonsu for China, Namoale for Brazil

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 15 persons as ambassadors and high commissioners for various countries, according to a statement from the presidency released here over the weekend.

The statement, signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, announced that the appointments which were done in consultation with the Council of State forms part of the first batch of ambassadorial appointments by President John Dramani Mahama.

“I wish to inform you that the President of the Republic, following consultations with the Council of State, has appointed the following individuals as ambassadors/high commissioners and consul-general designates,” said the statement.

Among high profile persons within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) appointed include businessman, sports administrator and politician Kojo Bonsu, who served as metropolitan chief executive for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly from 2013 to 2016.

Bonsu has been appointed as Ghana’s ambassador to the People’s Republic of China while 66-year-old Nii Amasah Namoale, who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has been appointed ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil.

The other 13 individuals include Grace El Mahmoud Marabe for the United Arab Emirates-Dubai, Prof. Ohene Adjei for the Federal Republic of Germany, Benjamin A. Quarshie for the Republic of South Africa, and Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe for the Kingdom of Spain.

The list also has Abdul Nasiru-Deen for the Federal Republic of Turkey, Theresah Adjei-Mensah for the Czech Republic, Prof. Kwasi Obiri ObiriDanso for India, Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh for Canada, and Dr. Margaret Miewien Chebere for Austria.

The rest are Labik Joseph Yaani for Equatorial Guinea, Captain George Kofi Nojoh for the Republic of Togo, Dr. Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo for the Republic of Senegal, and Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali for the United Arab Emirates. Enditem
