The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will conduct balloting today, Friday, October 10, to determine the positions of all five presidential aspirants on the ballot paper ahead of the party’s presidential primary, scheduled for early next year.
All presidential aspirants or their representatives are expected to be present at the Asylum Down office of the party to supervise the balloting to be conducted by the party’s National Elections Committee.
In a recent letter signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee, the party announced that the balloting will be held at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down, Accra, on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at 11.00 a.m.
Party sources told Ghana Eye Report all the aspirants met the requirements and hence went through the vetting process successfully.
The NPP will hold a presidential primary on January 31 next year to elect a flagbearer to lead the party towards the 2028 general election.
The candidates who have filed to contest the primary include former General Secretary Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Abetifi Member of Parliament Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutuwm.
