The Black Stars of Ghana has moved two places up to 73rd in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings released on Friday.

Ghana’s upward movement follows their performance in the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers this month, in which Ghana beat Madagascar and Comoros by 5-0 and 1-0, respectively, to qualify for the next World Cup.

Spain, Argentina, France, England, and Portugal are the top five countries in the world, according to FIFA.

Despite moving up in the global ranking, Ghana’s position on the African continent, however, remains unchanged.

The cocoa-growing, gold- and oil-producing West African country occupies the 14th position on the African football ranking.

On the African continent, Morocco leads the pack, with Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Nigeria following in that order.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed Ghana will play two international friendlies against Japan and South Korea next month. Enditem
