Motor crash: Several persons feared dead in fatal accident near Kasoa tollbooth

Several persons are feared dead, with others in critical condition, following a tragic road accident near the Kasoa tollbooth in the Central Region on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses report that the crash occurred when a Sprinter minibus, with registration number GW 7455-18, traveling toward Kasoa, collided with the rear of a Jeep 4×4 (GR 7673), which was reportedly reversing on the highway.

The violent impact caused the minibus, which was fully loaded with passengers, to somersault several times before landing in a mangled state. Some passengers died instantly, while others were left trapped inside the wreckage.

Emergency responders and residents nearby quickly rushed to the scene to rescue survivors. Paramedics reportedly faced difficulties securing a referral for one of the critically injured victims after initial treatment at the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic, as no major health facility was immediately available to receive the patient. The frantic transfer attempt lasted nearly an hour.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the exact number of casualties or the cause of the accident. Enditem
