Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’s burial slated for Nov. 28

Former Ghanaian First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings will be buried on Nov. 28 this year, according to her family on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference, family spokesperson Oheneba Akwasi Abayie announced that the funeral proceedings, which are open to the public, will commence at 6 am at Independence Square in the national capital.

“The funeral activities will start at 6 a.m. at the Independence Square with the arrival of the cortege at the Independence Square,” said Oheneba Abayie.

The family expressed deep appreciation to the public for the support and sympathy shown since the passing of the former Ghanaian First Lady.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on Oct. 23 at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, or Ridge Hospital, in the national capital at age 76.

She was the wife of the late Jerry John Rawlings, a former Ghanaian President, and was well known for her advocacy for women’s empowerment through the 31st December Women’s Movement. Enditem
