The government has declared Christmas and Boxing Day, as well as New Year’s Day, as statutory public holidays, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry.
In a statement signed by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, he urged the public to observe the days as such.
“The general public is hereby informed that Thursday, 25th December, Friday, 26th December 2025, and Thursday, 1st January 2026, which mark Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day respectively, are Statutory Public Holidays and should be observed throughout the country,” read the statement.
