The government of Ghana has confirmed a terrorist attack of its citizens in Burkina Faso, its northern neighbour, according to a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement signed by minister for Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Ghanaians, who were traders, were attacked by terrorists in Titao in Burkina Faso on Saturday.
“The government of Ghana has received disturbing information from Burkina Faso of a truck carrying tomato traders from Ghana, which was caught in a terrorist attack in Titao, Burkina Faso, on Saturday, Feb. 14,” read the statement.
The government added that the Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso is liaising with officials there to visit the attack site for details and identification of its nationals caught in the attack. Enditem
