President John Dramani Mahama on Friday joined hundreds of Muslims to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan at the Independence Square.
In his Eid message, President Mahama extended warm wishes to the Muslim community, commending them for their discipline, sacrifice, and devotion throughout the period of Ramadan.
He noted that the values of fasting such as self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and humility, are essential for national development and urged the people to be guided by the righteousness of Allah.
“My brothers and sisters, Eid is not only a celebration, it is a call to continuity. Let us carry forward the spirit of Ramadan in how we treat one another,” in how we serve our communities, in how we uphold justice and fairness,” said President Mahama.
He reiterated that Ghana’s strength lies in its diversity and the ability of its people to live together in harmony.
“Ghana continues to be a shining example of peaceful coexistence, as we participate in each other’s ceremonies, we coexist as one people. This harmony is a precious gift. Let us reject anything that divides us,” added the President. Enditem
