Ghana’s U-17 Women football national team, the Black Maidens, beat their counterparts from Togo 6-0 in the second-leg of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Having secured all three points in Togo a week ago, the Ghanaians were determined to carry the day hence began the game by piling incessant pressure on the Togolese.
Black Maidens’ Juliana Gyekye opened scoring in the 13th minute before Zeina Shani struck twice in quick succession to put the hosts firmly in charge. Sekinatu Amadu added a fourth before the break as Ghana took a commanding lead into half-time.
The dominance continued after the restart, with Priscilla Mensah extending the lead in the 77th minute before Seidatu Wahab sealed the rout deep into stoppage time.
Ghana thus advances to the next round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers on a 8-0 aggregate having secured a 2-0 victory from the first leg in Lome last week. Enditem
