Aerolineas Argentinas unveiled a special World Cup-themed aircraft that will accompany the country’s national team ahead of the 2026 tournament.
Footage filmed in Buenos Aires on Friday shows the plane leaving Hangar 5 in Ezeiza, displaying a design dedicated to the current world champions.
The aircraft features Argentina’s historic number 10 in tribute to captain Lionel Messi, as well as the three stars marking the country’s World Cup titles. The stars are displayed on the lower part of the fuselage and on the engines, making them one of the most visible features of the design.
The airline said the initiative is aimed at building excitement ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Company representatives said the aircraft will be used in promotional activities linked to the tournament and will accompany the travels of the squad and Argentine fans.
The presentation also highlighted football’s role as a symbol of unity and national pride in Argentina, as the country prepares to defend its world title.
Argentina will play its group-stage matches in the United States, with games scheduled in Kansas City and Dallas against Algeria, Austria and Jordan. Enditem
