Pope Francis will continue to inspire generations with his legacy, President John Dramani Mahama said on Monday.
In a tribute shared on X formerly Twitter, Mahama recounted the distinct honour he had with the late Pope when he visited the Vatican with his wife.

“The world woke up to the sad news of Pope Francis’ passing. On behalf of my family and the people of Ghana, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Roman Catholic Church and all Catholic faithful in Ghana during this time of grief,” said Mahama.
“His legacy of compassion, humility, and commitment to social justice will continue to inspire generations. His leadership and advocacy for the poor and marginalised resonate deeply. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” added the Ghanaian president.

Pope Francis died on Monday at the age of 88, a day after making a much-hoped-for appearance at St. Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday, the Vatican said in a statement. Enditem
