Cameroon’s women beat Ghana one-nil on Sunday in the second round of the group stage matches at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The footage shows fans of both teams in front of the Moulay Rachid complex in Casablanca.
“We prepared for this match. We are proud because we entered this competition with a prior victory. Today we won. We played and say, praise be to God, because although we are not the best in this competition, we will try to do what we can. We have a game plan that we follow,” said Cameroon’s Naomi Eto
Ghana’s Benedict Simon said that while they had lost, “I do not think it is bad, because if we work well, we will be better.”
Group D includes Mali and Cape Verde. Cameroo now tops the group with six points, followed by Ghana with three points, ahead of Mali on goal difference, while Cape Verde sits at the bottom of the table with zero.
The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations began on July 26 and continues until August 16.
It sees expansion of participation to include 16 teams – up from 12 last time – and the national teams of Cape Verde and Malawi are also making their first-ever appearance.
