The Ministry of Education (MoE) has rescheduled the release of the 2026/2027 school placement results to the first week of next month, the ministry announced in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement signed by the Press Secretary Hashmin Mohammed, the release of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is now scheduled for Sept. 4 instead of the previously advertised Aug. 31.
The decision has arisen out of a request from various stakeholders for additional time to complete the processes of uploading students’ data.
“The Ministry of Education has taken note of requests from some parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools for additional time to enable them to complete the submission and uploading of students’ data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the Computerised School Selection and Placement System,” read the statement.
According to the Education Ministry, its data indicates that some 20,000 qualified students are yet to have their choices uploaded onto the system by their heads of schools, parents, or guardians.
In light of the above, the ministry stated that the extension is intended to provide an additional opportunity to ensure that pending data submissions do not hinder these students from participating in the placement process.
The ministry urged parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools to use the extension to submit and upload all outstanding information within the stipulated period. Enditem
