The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has called for total support for the Asantehene-led mediation team in bringing lasting peace to Bawku and its environs.

According to a resolution by the association at the end of its 2025 mid-year conference, held recently, signed by its President, Mrs. Efua Ghartey, and National Secretary, Kwaku Gyau Baffour, the group commended the urgent and genuine efforts put in place in resolving the conflict, stressing the importance of peace, dialogue, and national unity.

The Association noted with deep concern the devastating impact of the conflict on lives, property, and national unity.

“The Ghana Bar Association supports the involvement of eminent chiefs across Ghana, whose wisdom, neutrality, and traditional authority are critical in fostering reconciliation and lasting peace. The GBA calls for strong and unwavering support for the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and all traditional authorities engaged in the mediation process,” said the association.

It appealed to all parties involved in the Bawku conflict to cooperate fully and respect the outcomes of the mediation efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace to the area.

The GBA also expressed its commitment to using its voice and platform to advocate for a peaceful resolution and will support any constitutional and legal measures necessary to secure enduring peace in Bawku. Enditem
