Ghanaian security analyst Paul Boateng appointed to Africa Security Research Centre Board in UK

Security Analyst Paul Coonley Boateng has been appointed to the Board of the Africa Security Research Centre (ASRC) of the Buckingham University Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS), sources confirmed Friday.

Mr. Boateng, who is a PhD candidate at Buckingham University, will serve on the board with renowned scholars, including Prof. Julian Richards, Director of the BUCSIS, and Dr. Adekunle Osibogun, a Research Fellow at the BUCSIS.

The rest are Dr. Melina Dobson and Dr. Ian Stainer, both of BUCSIS, as well as Dr. Olamide Samuel, an alumnus of BUCSIS and lecturer at the University of Leicester.

The Africa Security Research Centre is a hub for dialogue and analysis of Africa’s security environment by bringing together a network of researchers and commentators within and beyond the African continent.

Among the activities of the ASRC are the production of high-quality scholarly analyses, the hosting of symposia and discussion workshops, the development of educational activities including academic programmes, and the sponsoring of doctoral projects.

Paul Coonley Boateng is a co-founder of the Africa Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (ACSIS).

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Security and Intelligence Studies at the University of Buckingham, where he also holds a master’s degree in Security, Intelligence, and Diplomacy.

Mr. Boateng serves on the board of associates of the Africa Security Research Centre (ASRC) at the University of Buckingham’s Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS).

In addition to his academic pursuits, he is a regular media commentator on security and intelligence issues, contributing to national and international television and radio.

His research interests focus on global security challenges, particularly developing contemporary techniques to address traditional and emerging security threats across West Africa.

He is expected to use his rich and in-depth knowledge of African security issues in the activities of the Africa Security Research Centre Board. Enditem
