Asiedu-Nketiah embarks on 3-day thank-you tour in Eastern Region to test presidential ambition

National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, will be embarking on a three-day thank-you tour in the Eastern Region, according to an itinerary released by his outfit on Tuesday.

The tour, which will commence on Wednesday, September 17, is expected to begin at the Asuogyaman, Lower Manya, Upper Manya, Yilo, and Okere Constituencies, where the NDC Chairman will meet with all constituency executives, all branch executives, coordinators, former chief executives, assembly members, driver unions, and any available groups.

Asiedu-Nketiah, popularly known as ‘General Mosquito’ is expected to visit Akuapem North, Akuapem South, Nsawam, Upper West Akim, and Asamamankese on day two of his Eastern Regional tour, while on Thursday, he will be touring the Akroso, Achiase, Swedru, Akim Oda, Kade, and Akwatia constituencies.

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama will end his constitutionally mandated second term in office on the midnight of January 6, 2029, and ahead of the 2028 presidential election, the governing party is looking at presenting a formidable candidate to lead them.

The tour by the NDC National Chairman is seen by many political watchers as using it as a basis to test his presidential ambition to lead the party in the 2028 general election. Enditem
