Ato Forson, Armah-Buah appointed caretaker ministers

President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday appointed Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, as caretaker ministers for Defence and Environment, Science and Technology, respectively, according to a statement from the presidency.

The statement, signed by Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said the appointment of the duo follows the tragic death of eight Ghanaians, including Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, then Minister for Defence, and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Environment, Science and Technology Minister, on their way to Obuasi on Wednesday’s fatal helicopter crash.

“President John Dramani Mahama has asked the Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to take on additional responsibility as Defence Minister. The President has also asked Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, to act as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology until further notice,” read the statement. Enditem
