Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is scheduled to present the 2026 Budget Statement & Economic Policy to Parliament today, Thursday, 13 November 2025.
The budget presentation is the first full-year fiscal plan under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration since his second return to the presidency in January this year.
It comes at a critical time as Ghana is working toward exiting the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-supported program in May 2026, bringing added scrutiny and pressure.
The minister is expected to emphasize measures aimed at revenue mobilization, controlling the deficit, and improving debt sustainability.
Others are expanding job creation, boosting productivity, and investing in key sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and digital innovation, as well as enhancing support programs for vulnerable groups while maintaining macroeconomic stability.
The budget is also expected to announce potential reforms to Value Added Tax (VAT), tax compliance, and digital revenue systems—all under pressure to not over-burden citizens or businesses. Enditem
