Ghana U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses, beat South Africa 1-0 at the Nelspruit-Mbombela Stadium on Saturday to progress to the final round of qualifiers of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Ghana thus qualifies on a 3-2 aggregate after a 2-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium last week during the first-leg of the qualifiers.
After a barren first half, the West Africans scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute through Priscilla Mensah.
Despite efforts by the home team to redeem the deficit, the Black Princesses remained resolute and protected their lead till the end of the match.
Ghana is seeking to book its eighth consecutive appearance at the biennial tournament scheduled to be held in Poland in September this year. Enditem
