Black Queens to face Cote d’Ivoire in a pre-WAFCON friendly in Morocco

Ghana’s female national team, the Black Queens, will play against their western neighbours, Cote d’Ivoire, in an international friendly as part of their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Ahead of the tournament, Queens coach Kim Lars Bjokegren’s squad will compete in the Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 28 to March 6, 2026.

Ghana opens the competition against Hong Kong on February 28 at 16:00 GMT, before taking on Russia on March 3 at the same time, a match expected to test the team against a physically imposing side.

The Queens will close the tournament on March 6 with a 21:00 GMT clash against Tanzania.

Following the UAE tournament, Ghana will meet Cote d’Ivoire in a final friendly in Morocco as a final tune-up before WAFCON.

The Black Queens have been drawn in Group D alongside Cameroon, Cape Verde, and Mali. Enditem
