New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Achampong, on Monday paid glowing tribute over the passing of the Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, according to a statement issued by his communications directorate.
According to a letter addressed to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Dr. Acheampong described the late Asantehemaa as “a towering symbol of grace, wisdom, and cultural continuity,” whose reign embodied the sacred traditions of Asanteman and whose influence extended far beyond its borders.
“Dr. Bryan Acheampong has expressed profound sorrow following the formal announcement of the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at the Asanteman Council Meeting held on August 11, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace,” read the statement.
“Nana Konadu Yiadom III nurtured unity, upheld dignity, and served as a custodian of our cherished heritage,” stressing that “her passing marks a solemn moment in our national history,” added the statement.
He expressed his deepest condolences to the Asantehene, the royal family, and the people of Asanteman, praying for divine strength and comfort during the period of mourning.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Monday announced the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III at the age of 98.
She was reported to have died on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The Asantehemaa reigned for eight years as the Queen Mother for Asanteman. Enditem
