The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has given a strong indication that Senior High Schools (SHSs) across the country will not take part in the balloting and subsequent stages of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), according to a statement sighted by Ghana Eye Report on Sunday.
The statement, signed by Baro Primus, National Secretary for CHASS, informed organizers of the quiz competition that the schools were unable to mobilize and prepare students for the competition because government funds meant for such activities have not yet been released.
“Referenced to your letter dated September 2025, CHASS regrets to inform you that schools will not be able to participate in the balloting and subsequently, the quiz competition due to non-availability of funds to schools to mobilize and organize their students to take part.” Read the statement.
CHASS, however, assured the organizers that the association will review its position as soon as funds are released by the government.
“We want to assure the organizers that, as soon as the government releases funds for that purpose, CHASS will review its position and communicate to you accordingly,” it added. End item
