The 14th batch of the Chinese medical team in Ghana on Saturday donated essential supplies and provided free medical services to an orphanage in Accra, the capital of the West African country.
The 11-member team delivered medications, toys, footballs, packs of mineral water, and stationery to the Motherly Love Orphanage, home to more than 60 children in a suburb of Accra.
“These medicines, stationery, and toys carry blessings across oceans to enrich their lives,” said Yang Yongguang, head of the Chinese medical team, adding that the visit was aimed at strengthening the longstanding friendship between China and Ghana.
John Azumah, chief executive officer of the orphanage, praised the team for continuing the legacy of care and support established by their predecessors, noting that the support from Chinese medical teams has extended beyond medical donations, significantly improving the children’s living conditions.
Edmond Moukala, representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization to Ghana, also attended the ceremony and commended the Chinese society for its continued contributions to the social development of communities in Ghana and across Africa. Enditem
