CLOGSAG issues two-week ultimatum to govt to implement new salary structure

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has issued a two-week ultimatum to the government to implement their new salary structure and conditions of service, this is according to a statement on Friday.

The statement addressed to the Labour, Jobs and Employment Minister gave the government up to June 30 to meet their demands, failure to which will result in industrial action.

According to CLOGSAG, there has been enormous pressure on the National Executive by their members to get the government to implement their new salary structure and conditions of service.

CLOGSAG observed that the National Executive Council (NEC), after a series of meetings and various Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), resolved as follows;

“That the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment should see to the effective implementation of the new salary structure and other conditions of service, implement within two weeks that is, from Monday, June 16, 2025 up to June 30, 2025, CLOGSAG expects a positive response from government,” said the statement.

“Failure to initiate implementation, the Association would have no other option than to embark on a nationwide strike,” it added.

The threat by CLOGSAG is coming on the back of the strike action embarked upon by nurses and midwives across the country, who suspended their industrial action on Friday after the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health intervened in the matter. Enditem
