Edward Yaw Afriyie elected new Vice Chair for PIAC

Mr Edward Yaw Afriyie has been elected Vice Chairperson of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), according to the civil society group.

Mr. Afriyie is the Managing Director of Micro Medical Centre in Kumasi. He was the former Treasurer of the Kumasi Branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) and a former Council member of the Chamber.

He is currently a PhD candidate at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), reading Hematology.

He holds a Commonwealth Executive Master’s degree in Public Administration (2011 -2013) and an MPhil in Hematology (2018-2021), both from KNUST, and a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (1999- 2003).

He joined PIAC through the nomination of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) and the Association of Ghana Industry (AGI) and has been instrumental in bringing his expertise to support transparency and accountability efforts. Enditem
