EOCO arrests LPG leader Kofi Akpaloo

The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) reportedly picked up the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, at his base in Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region, on Wednesday.

According to sources, the dawn operation was conducted by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) from the Headquarters in Accra, working in coordination with the agency’s Ashanti Regional Office.

Though the specific reasons for the arrest remain unclear, the suspect is said to have been sent to Accra, where he is expected to assist investigators with ongoing inquiries.

Meanwhile, the EOCO is yet to release an official statement on the matter. Enditem
