Final Dutch F-16 jets for Ukraine depart the Netherlands

The last batch of Dutch F-16 fighter jets pledged to Ukraine has left the Netherlands, the Dutch Defense Ministry confirmed Monday.

The aircraft took off from Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands en route to Belgium, where they will undergo final preparations before being handed over to Ukraine, said the ministry in a statement.

The first of these Dutch F-16s was delivered in October last year, as confirmed by the Netherlands at the time.

With this new delivery, the Netherlands said it has provided Ukraine with a total of 24 F-16 fighter jets as it had promised.

While the direct transfer of F-16 fighter jets is now complete, the Dutch government emphasized its continued support for Ukraine. The assistance package includes pilot training, maintenance, spare parts, ammunition, and fuel to ensure the fighter jets remain operational.  Enditem
