The families of the two brothers who perished in the microlight aircraft which crashed last week have described the victims as bright lights within their family, according to a statement on Saturday.
According to a statement, the family said the two brothers were full of promise, warmth and life until their untimely demise.
The family described how they were pained as still struggled to come to terms with the sudden departure of their members.
“With a heavy heart of loss, the Wettey and Donkor families announce the passing of our beloved sons, Captain Frank Amoanyi Donkor and Elijah Ofori Donkor, following the tragic microlight aircraft crash at Tema Community 1 on March 16, 2026,” read the statement.
“Frank and Elijah were not just sons of Elder & Mrs Frank Donkor, they were bright lights within our families, full of promise, warmth and life,” added the statement.
The families appealed to the public, the media and other well wishers to grant them the space and privacy in their moment of grief.
They however commended the various state agencies including the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIB) and others for their high level of professionalism and swift response when the incident occurred.
The Wettey and Donkor families further announced that the funeral arrangements of the duo will be communicated in due course. Enditem
