Fuel prices to drop in November – COMAC

By Francis Kobena Tandoh

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) in Ghana is projecting a decline in fuel prices starting 1 November 2025.

According to COMAC, diesel prices may fall between about 6.03% and 8.13%, which could reduce the price per litre from around GH₵14.56 down to about GH₵13.10.

For petrol and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), similar declines are also expected due to international and local economic factors.

Among the reasons cited are a drop in international crude oil and refined product prices and the appreciation of the Ghana cedi against the U.S. dollar by some 37 percent, thereby reducing import costs.

COMAC noted that not all oil marketing companies might pass on the full reduction immediately, due to earlier cost absorption.

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies, however, observed that the projections/outlooks are not guarantees, and actual pump prices depend on global market shifts, exchange rate movements, and internal cost structures.

In summary, it is reasonable to anticipate a decrease in fuel prices in November 2025, but it’s important to remember that this is merely a projection and not a firm expectation. Even if prices drop, the reduction may not be evenly felt across all regions or all fuel stations,” said COMAC. Enditem
