A total of GH₵73,510 has been lost within the first seven months of the year through mobile data bundle scams, the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) confirmed in a statement on Sunday.
According to the Cyber Security Authority, fraudsters pretend to offer mobile data at discounted rates purposely to trick their victims into sending money and divulging personal information, which in some cases compromises their accounts.
“The Cyber Security Authority has received reports of mobile data bundle sale scams. From January to July 2025, a total of sixty-three (63) cases with a monetary loss of GH₵73,510 were recorded,” read the statement.
The CSA cautioned the public against such fraudsters by being vigilant in order not to fall prey to the activities of such scammers.
It also urged the general public to report cybercrime activities to their outfit for guidance and assistance. Enditem
