Ghana’s male national football team, the Black Stars, drew 1-1 with Chad in matchday 7 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Marshal Idriss Deby Itno Olympic Stadium at N’djamena on Thursday.
Ghana scored early in the game in the 17th minute through captain Jordan Ayew to give the West Africans the lead after connecting from a pass from Mohammed Kudus.
The Black Stars failed to increase their tally, and in the dying embers of the game, the hosts had an equalizer in the 89th minute to end the game in a draw.
Despite dropping points, Ghana still tops the Group 1 league log with 16 after seven matches. They are closely followed by Comoros with 12 points after six matches, while Madagascar occupies the third position with 10 points.
Mali and the Central African Republic have 9 and 5 points, respectively, while Chad lies at the bottom of the league log with a point.
Ghana will play against Mali in matchday eight of the qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8. Enditem
