Ghana’s monthly economy grows 4.2 pct in November 2025

The Ghana Statistical Service said Thursday that the country’s economy grew 4.2 percent in November 2025, a 2.9-percentage-point reduction compared to the 7.1 percent growth in the same period in 2024.

Government Statistician Alhassan Iddrisu said during a press briefing in Accra, the capital of Ghana, that the growth was mainly driven by the crop and services sectors.

“The services sector recorded a growth of 6.7 percent in October 2025, down from 10.2 percent in November 2024, driven largely by communications sector growth,” Iddrisu said.

He added that agriculture grew at 4.1 percent, up from 3.8 percent a year earlier, while the industry sector declined to 0.4 percent from 6.2 percent in the same period in 2024.

“The decline in industry was due to the fall in mining and quarrying, mainly due to subdued activity in the upstream oil and gas sector,” Iddrisu said.

For sector-by-sector contribution to the overall growth, the government statistician said the services sector contributed 57.7 percent, followed by agriculture with 32.4 percent and industry with 2.5 percent.

The monthly indicator of economic growth is an indicative factor in the aggregated quarterly growth reported at the end of each quarter.  Enditem
