Ahead of Ghana’s participation in the 2026FIFA World Cup, Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has assured that the budget for the Black Stars’ participation will be publicly disclosed to the public.

Ghana, a four-time African champion, is set to make its fifth appearance at the global tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer.

The minister, who previously revealed the costs of each qualifier match despite criticism from some football stakeholders, confirmed in an interview that transparency will extend to the World Cup preparations.

“We will make the World Cup budget public; nothing will be hidden. The government does not intend to profit; this is about giving Ghana what it deserves,” he told an Accra-based radio station.

He further disclosed that funds raised through the Sports Fund set up by the government will determine the number of supporters to be flown to the tournament to cheer Ghana’s male football national team.

“The funds we will raise will determine the number of fans we take to the World Cup.”

Ghana, drawn in Group L, will open its campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before taking on England in Boston, and concluding the group stage against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia. Enditem
