The government of Ghana will release the findings of the August 6 helicopter crash report on Tuesday, Spokesperson to the President Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced in a Facebook post on Sunday.

According to the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, the report will be presented to the National Security Council on Monday before its release to the public the following day.

A Z-9 military chopper crashed on August 6 this year at Sikaman, a farming community in the Akrofuom District, near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, resulting in the death of five government officials and three crew members.

Shortly after the incident, the government announced a 30-day investigation board chaired by National Security Co-ordinator Abdul-Osman Razak, with technical advisors from the United States Air Force.

Other government activities for the week as announced by the Minister for Government Communications, include the launch of the “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” poultry programme by President John Dramani Mahama in Kumasi on Wednesday.

The programme is seeking to engage some 55,000 households in poultry production as part of efforts to reduce the country’s annual import bill of about 300 million U.S. dollars on chicken.

Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, will also present the 2026 budget statement and economic policy of the government to Parliament on Thursday.

Analysts are looking forward to seeing the policy measures outlined in the budget to consolidate the macroeconomic gains made and to implement the government’s 24-hour economy policy. Enditem
