Highlife musician Dada KD reported dead

Renowned Highlife musician, Nana Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD, is reported dead, his manager, King Gee, has confirmed.

The cause of death of the ace musician, according to King Gee, is not yet known.

He explained that Dada KD had malaria for some time now, but was taken ill on Friday, and he was rushed to a medical facility at Gbawe, a suburb of the Ghanaian capital of Accra, around 4 pm, where he gave up.

“Dada KD lives with his nephew, and as of yesterday, he had gone to write his exams, leaving the musician alone. Upon the return of his nephew, Dada KD had collapsed and was rushed to three different medical facilities in Gbawe, where he gave up after he was put on oxygen.

A devastated manager could not understand why somebody returned to the country after performing a show in the United States last week, and preparing for another performance in the United Kingdom next week, could die just like that.

He called for an investigation into the death of Dada KD, clearing speculations making the rounds on social media that he was shot and killed.

On social media, some Ghanaian musicians have been paying tribute to the ace musician known for releasing some scintillating love songs.

Gospel singer, Empress Gifty, wrote on her Facebook page, “Dada KD” with the picture of the departed musician.

Afia Schwarzenneger wrote, “Ahh, Kwaku Duah, But Why.’

In the words of gospel singer, Broda Sammy, “Rest in peace, champion musician Dada Kd”.

The death of Dada KD is coming at a time when he has been billed together with other artistes such as Obrafour, Slim Buster, Kojo Blakk for show in London on May 25.

Dada KD is best known for songs such as Tekyere Ma, Ene Menye, Wosuro a Wondi, Honey Love, among others. Enditem
