King Paluta, Asake, others to light up AfroFuture Festival 2025

Accra is once again set to become the heartbeat of African creativity as the highly anticipated AfroFuture Festival 2025 returns to the El Wak Stadium on December 28 and 29.

Organised by the Culture Management Group (CMG), the festival—formerly known as Afrochella—will feature an electrifying lineup of some of Africa’s most dynamic talents including Nigeria’s Asake, Ghana’s King Paluta, South Africa’s TxC, Ghanaian star Moliy, and Afrobeat innovator Mavo.

Known for celebrating Africa’s vibrant blend of music, art, food, and fashion, AfroFuture has, over the years, attracted thousands of revelers from across the world.

Previous editions have featured heavyweight performers such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Burna Boy, Black Sherif and Ayra Starr.

The 2025 edition promises nothing short of a spectacle. Leading the charge is Asake, one of Afrobeats’ most dominant global forces, whose energetic performances continue to push the boundaries of contemporary African sound.

Joining him is King Paluta, Ghana’s lyrical powerhouse and one of the country’s most talked-about rap sensations, whose inclusion in the lineup signifies AfroFuture’s commitment to spotlighting homegrown talent. Fans can also expect explosive sets from South Africa’s DJ duo TxC, Ghana’s rising songbird Moliy, and Mavo, an emerging Afrobeat trailblazer shaping the sound of a new generation.

Complementing the main acts will be a high-energy lineup of DJs, including DJ Obi & Obi’s House, ADDJ, DJ Loft, and the vibrant duo K-Dawg & EZPass, each promising to keep the crowds dancing deep into the night.

This year’s festival is themed “African Nostalgia,” a concept that celebrates the collective memories and traditions connecting Africans across generations and continents.

Through food, music, fashion, art, and community, the festival aims to bridge past and present—honouring the essence of African identity while inspiring a shared future.

“African Nostalgia is the heartbeat of AfroFuture 2025—honouring the food, music, fashion, art, and traditions that connect Africans and the diaspora across generations,” said Abdul Karim Abdullah, CEO and Co-Founder of Culture Management Group. “It’s a celebration of what shaped us yesterday and the fuel for building the African Dream of tomorrow.”

The theme underscores the festival’s broader vision: to reimagine the African Dream as one of unity, creativity, and pride. AfroFuture doesn’t just reflect on the past—it transforms nostalgia into innovation, showing how cultural heritage can drive the continent’s creative future.

This year’s event expands beyond the two-day main show to include a series of immersive pre- and post-festival programs that highlight Africa’s rich creative and entrepreneurial spirit.

Among these activities are the Battle of Jollof Basketball Game on December 27 at Bukom Arena, a thrilling celebrity basketball face-off produced in collaboration with the Basketball Africa League, merging sports, entertainment, and social impact.

On December 30, fashion lovers will gather at the Nubuke Museum for Fashion Night Out, a curated day-to-night showcase of African design brilliance featuring runway shows, installations, panel discussions, and live performances.

The celebrations continue with the New Year’s Eve Extravaganza on December 31 at La Palm, AfroFuture’s 8th annual “Positive Vibes Only” party welcoming 2026 in grand style with music, food, and fashion.

In the days leading up to the main event, Afro Expo will also run from December 18 to 31 across Accra.

This initiative will feature master classes, wellness experiences, book talks, film screenings, and networking mixers—all spotlighting African innovation and entrepreneurship while bridging culture and commerce.

“Every AfroFuture Festival is a reminder that the future of Black culture is being written right here, in Africa,” said Akosua Ayim, Director of Operations at CMG. “Our 2025 edition builds on that vision—bringing together artistes, innovators,l and dreamers shaping what’s next for the continent and the diaspora.”

Since its inception, AfroFuture (originally Afrochella) has evolved into one of Africa’s defining cultural movements. It has become more than a festival—it’s a homecoming for Africans and the diaspora, a space to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the continent’s creative excellence. Each edition has attracted thousands of attendees from around the globe, with past performances by some of Africa’s biggest stars making it a must-attend end-of-year event in Accra. Beyond entertainment, AfroFuture serves as a platform for cultural exchange, economic empowerment, and showcasing Africa’s creative potential to the world.
