Rising Ghanaian gospel sensation Lady Ophelia has opened up about her journey, passion, and unwavering commitment to spreading joy through music, describing it as her divine calling and life’s purpose.
In a heartfelt interview on Atinka TV’s Entertainment Lounge, hosted by Odeefuor Diasapapa, Lady Ophelia reflected on her early beginnings, the role of faith, and the impact of her music on both herself and her audience.
She revealed that her love for music began as early as age 10, nurtured by encouragement from her mother and family. “I’ve been in music from childhood, and with the support of my loved ones, I’ve continued ever since,” she said.
For Lady Ophelia, gospel music is more than just a genre — it’s a divine assignment. “I see music as my destiny and calling from God, so I have no regrets at all pursuing it,” she affirmed.
She shared that her creative inspiration comes directly from the Bible, which not only fuels her signwriting but also strengthens her resolve to keep going. “Music is a universal language that translates experiences, feelings, and ideas into something meaningful we can all relate to. Mine comes from Scripture and life,” she said.
Her decision to pursue gospel music, she added, is guided by faith. “I believe this is the path God wants me to walk. That’s why I chose gospel.”
Beyond music, Lady Ophelia is also a dedicated professional teacher with 11 years of experience in the classroom. She expressed pride in both callings — teaching and music — and finds joy in balancing the two.
“I’m proud to be a teacher. It’s a gift just like music. Both give me a platform to impact lives,” she noted.
Lady Ophelia’s powerful vocals and stage presence have earned her growing recognition in the gospel music scene. She enjoys performing with a live band, where she channels her energy and talent to uplift audiences.
Her hard work and passion were recently rewarded when she won Favourite Artist of the Year at the 2025 Ebenezer Music Gospel Awards — a major milestone in her blossoming career.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Lady Ophelia has released several well-received songs, including “Akunimdi,” “Maseda Nnwom,” “Aye Yie Ewie,” and “Obi Nte Sɛ Wo,” which continue to touch lives and inspire faith.
Through her music and teaching, Lady Ophelia remains committed to one mission: spreading joy, one soul at a time.
