Mahama approves four for promotion to COP, 12 to the rank of DCOPs

President John Dramani Mahama has approved the promotion of four officers to the rank of Commissioner of Police (COP) and 12 to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCOPs) according to a police wireless message on Monday.

The wireless message signed by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and copied to all Regional Commanders observed that the President, upon the recommendations of the Police Council, approved the promotion of the four to the rank of COP with effect from September 1, 2025.

“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, upon the recommendations of the Police Council, approved the promotion of the under-mentioned Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of Commissioner of Police with effect from 1st September, 2025,” read the message.

The four include DCOP/Mr. Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankrah, DCOP/Mr. Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, DCOP/Mr. Arhin Kwasi Annor, and DCOP/Mr. Frederick Kofi Blagodzi.

Among the officers promoted to the rank of DCOPs include ACPOL/Mr. Alex Kwame Safo-Adu, ACPOL/Mr. Francis Nchor, ACPOL/Mr. Francis Kwaku Yiribaare, ACPOL/Mr. Solomon Aboninga Ayawine, ACPOL/Mr. John Ferguson Dzineku and ACPOL/Mr. Theodore Hlormenu.

The rest are ACPOL/Dr. Frank Kwashie Hukporti, ACPOL/Mr. Joseph Hammond Nyaaba, ACPOL/Mr. Adam Seidu, ACPOL/Nana Adane Ameyaw Nyamekye (Rev), ACPOL/Ms. Grace Akrofi-Ansah, and ACPOL/Mr. Al-Meyaw Abass Kwarasey. Enditem
