Mahama nominates Gyakye Quayson and 3 others as deputy ministers

President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the names of four persons as deputy ministerial nominees to Parliament for approval, according to a statement released here on Wednesday.

The statement, signed by Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, observed that the nominations were in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

According to the minister, the four members of Parliament nominated to serve across various key ministries include Dorcas Toffey, MP for the Ministry of Transport, and James Gyakye Quayson, MP, for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The rest are Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP, for the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP, for the Ministry of Health.

Parliament will announce a date to vet and approve the nominees before they assume their role as deputy ministers. Enditem
