Medeama SC revived their title ambition by thrashing premier league giants Asante Kotoko 4-0 in matchday 29 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at the Tarkwa and Aboso (TNA) Stadium on Sunday.
The home side, who slip last week were bent on claiming all points at stake on the day hence began the game by piling pressure on a Kotoko side that has struggled in the league in recent times.
Medeama took an early lead in the 14th minute when Manuel Mantey’s effort took a decisive reflection off Henry Ansu, wrong-footing Kotoko’s goalkeeper for the first goal of the afternoon.
Mauve and Yellow were relentless and doubled their lead in the 29th minute when Kelvin Obeng rose to connect with his head while Salim Adams added a third just before the end of the first half.
Adams struck again five minutes into the second to give his side an emphatic 4-0 win against the Porcupine Warriors.
With five matches to the end of the season, Medeama SC returns to the summit of the GPL log, two points ahead of dedending champions Bibian Gold Stars. Enditem
