The Presidential Elections Committee of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday invited all five presidential aspirants to participate in a process to ballot for positions for next year’s presidential primary, according to a statement released here.
The statement, signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee, announced that the balloting will be held at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down, Accra, on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at 11.00 a.m.
“The Chairman of the Committee has directed me to extend an invitation for your participation in a balloting process to determine your positions on the ballot paper for the upcoming January 31st presidential primary,” read the statement.
The party also congratulated five aspirants for going through the vetting successfully.
“I bring you warm greetings from the Presidential Elections Committee and congratulate you on a successful vetting outcome,” it added.
The NPP will hold a presidential primary on January 31 next year to elect a flagbearer to lead the party towards the 2028 general election.
Former General Secretary Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Abetifi Member of Parliament Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutuwm have filed to contest the primary.
