OSP detains Paul Adom-Otchere, 2 others after failing to meet bail condition

Media personality and former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has been detained after failing to meet his bail conditions, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) confirmed in post on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday.

According to the OSP, the host of “Good Evening Ghana”, a popular political talk show on Metro TV, was asked to produce two landed properties of any value, of which the journalist said he did not have in the country.

“The Office of the Special Prosecutor has interviewed and formally charged the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, and two others. Mr. Adom-Otchere has so far been unable to meet his bail conditions,” read the post.

“He is required to present two landed properties (of no specific value) registered in his name. However, he has informed the OSP that he does not own landed property in Ghana. As a result, he remains in custody until the bail terms are satisfied,” the OSP added.

The former Board Chairman of the GACL, according to the OS,P is under investigation in connection with a revenue assurance contract between the Ghana Airports Company Limited and a private firm owned by the proprietor of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited. The OSP is examining possible procurement breaches, including a sole-sourced contract awarded to a company other than the one approved by the GACL Board.

Meanwhile, the two other persons charged alongside Adom-Otchere are Otchere Kwame Baffour Awuah – Group Executive, Commercial Services, GACL and Albert Adjetey Adjei-Laryea – CEO of Devnest Systems. Enditem
