Reshuffle coming – Fifi Kwetey hints

President John Dramani Mahama will reshuffle his ministers one year after assuming the presidency in his second term, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary said on Sunday.

According to him, the government has achieved a lot within the past year but is seeking to better hence President Mahama will carry out the exercise to improve upon its current performance.

The Chief Executive Officer of the governing party could not, however, state when exactly the president will reshuffle his ministers, but expressed confidence it will ‘definitely’ happen.

“There will be a reshuffling of ministers by the president. The government has performed well, and President Mahama will obviously want to improve upon its performance; it will happen,” said NDC General Secretary on Accra-based TV3.

President Mahama, before the Christmas break, promised to announce a replacement of the two cabinet ministers, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who were among six others who perished in the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash at Akrofuom near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

Aside from filling the Defence and Environment, Science and Technology ministries with ministers to take over from Dr Cassiel Ato Forson and Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, who were asked by the president to oversee those ministries when the ministers lost their lives, there will be key announcements to move some ministers around.
