Resolving Russia-Ukraine conflict “truly effective” at level of leaders: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday said that finding a solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict can be “truly effective” at the level of leaders.

   “It is necessary to determine the timing for such a format and the range of issues to be addressed,” he said in a post on X.

   Zelensky noted that following his phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and several European leaders on Wednesday, he also held separate discussions with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Mark Rutte and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

   Later on Thursday, Zelensky is scheduled to speak with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as well as representatives of France and Italy.

   Zelensky said that Ukraine will work toward peace “as productively as possible.”

   On Wednesday, U.S. media reported that Trump intends to meet in person with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week and plans to follow up with a trilateral meeting involving Zelensky.  Enditem
