Senegal’s Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines said Monday that the country’s Sangomar oil field has produced and sold 3.8 million barrels of crude oil since its operation in early 2025.
“The production of the Sangomar field continues to show strong performance with four shipments (SAN027, SAN028, SAN029, and SAN030), totaling 3.8 million barrels, which have been lifted and sold on the international market,” the ministry said in a statement.
Output forecasts for this oil and gas field remain unchanged for 2025 at approximately 30.53 million barrels, the ministry said. “In the first quarter of 2025, a total volume of 548,078 normal cubic meters of natural gas was sold,” it added.
Located about 100 km offshore from Dakar, the capital of the West African country, the Sangomar field is operated by the Australian company Woodside Energy, which began oil extraction there on June 11 last year. Enditem
