The Black Stars of Ghana lost 1-0 to South Korea in an international friendly at the Toyota Stadium in Seoul on Tuesday.
The Ghanaians began the game much stronger, determined to carry all three on the day, and combined brilliant interpositional play and made some early incursions onto their opponents’ half in the early stages of the match.
However, South Korea grew into the game, with Heung-Min Son, captain of the side, providing some cutting-edge passes that posed problems to the defenders of the Ghanaians, though no goal was scored in the first half.
The Koreas kept the pressure after the recess and found their breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Lee Tae-Seok’s shot went past Ghanaian goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who got a touch of the ball but failed to save it.
Korea had an opportunity to double their lead, but the Ghanaian goalkeeper rose to save Hwang Hee-Chan’s penalty.
With the defeat, Ghana has lost two games in succession, having conceded two goals against Japan last week in another friendly. Enditem
