The police have arrested two suspects for attempting to bribe officers at the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Tema, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The statement, signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs, said the suspects attempted to offer a GH¢150,000 bribe to the officers in an attempt to get them to release a Sinotruck Tipper Truck with registration number GN 993-14 loaded with over 3000 slabs of substances suspected to be cannabis.
“On 16th February 2026 at about 1910 hours, two suspects, Victor Asigbey (40), and Peter Asigbey (35), were arrested for attempting to bribe Police Officers at the Regional CID Office in Tema with a cash sum of GH¢150,000 in an attempt to unlawfully influence officers to release the vehicle and the suspected narcotic substances,” said the statement.
Meanwhile, the money has been retrieved by the police and retained as an exhibit to be used in the law court.

The suspects have been placed in police custody, assisting with investigations. The suspects, the police further stated, will be arraigned before the court on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
