Update: All injured Ghanaian UN peacekeepers in S. Lebanon in stable condition -GAF confirms

All Ghanaian soldiers working for the United Nations who were injured in a missile attack earlier this week are in stable condition, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) confirmed in a statement.

Providing an update of the state of Ghanaian soldiers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) who got injured in a missile attack, the GAF said a total of four soldiers were injured in which three are minor with one critical.

“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to inform the general public that following the recent missile attack on the Headquarters of the Ghanaian Battalion serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, four soldiers are injured; three minor and one critical. All injured soldiers are currently in stable condition,” read the statement.

The GAF added that fourteen offices whose accommodation were completely burnt down have since been re-knitted, re-accommodated and provided with some support.

Notwithstanding the attack, the Ghana Armed Forces emphasized that the Battalion in Southern Lebanon is in high spirits with their morale quite high.

The GAF expressed its profound gratitude to the public for their solidarity. Enditem
