President John Dramani Mahama removed Gertrude Araba Easaaba Sackey Torkornoo as Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, on account of “misbehaviour”, according to a statement from the presidency on Monday signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President.
Subsequently, Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, released a detailed statement explaining the reasons that may have led to the sacking of the Chief Justice.
