Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine overnight Friday, killing at least four people and injuring 25 others in Kiev, authorities said.
Three of the dead were residents of a residential complex, and the fourth was a 58-year-old emergency medical worker who was killed while providing assistance, said the Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office, adding that among the injured were medical personnel, rescue workers and a police officer.
The attack affected seven districts in Kiev, damaging 19 apartment buildings, including an embassy building, a kindergarten and other facilities.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched 242 drones and 36 missiles in the attack, including a medium-range ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar testing ground, a Russian rocket launch complex.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its military launched the strike, which included the use of the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, capable of carrying either conventional or nuclear payloads, targeting critical facilities in Ukraine. Enditem
